February- The month to celebrate Science
Program 1
On February 7th 2018, I
was invited by State Nodal Officer (INSPIRE), Kerala to be a Judge for the
state level Inspire Exhibition conducted by General Education Department. It is
my pleasure to share with you some of the Photos of the exhibits which were selected
from various districts in Kerala.

Please go through the above documents to feel the event. The
exhibits instilled curiosity in the observer such that it is clear
that future is hopeful. The compassion in doing science will definitely fetch
rewards. There were around 29 exhibits and three of them were selected for
National event held at Rastrapati Bhavan. If selected their ideas will be
undertaken by the India Government and their innovations with be credited in
their names using patents filed in their names. What a treat to watch and be a supporter
to endeavors.
Program 2
On
February 8th 2018, I had conducted a quiz on “Wetland Conservation”
at Kerala University College of Teacher Education (KUCTE), Kumarapuram. The
program was conducted as a part of world Wetland Day Celebration 2018. It was
indeed my pleasure to organize a quiz thereby I could learn many fold aspects
about wetland conservation and the need to protect wetlands for sustainable
urban future. I am attaching herewith the brochure for your reference.

On
09.02.2018, I had delivered a talk on “Introductory Solid State Physics” at N S
S College, Neeramankara. Smitha Teacher is a personal friend of mine whose
invitation couldn’t be neglected. So, I went to the college where my students
Amritha and Reji had studied. The environment over there is totally different
from that of the campus. We see disciplined students who are so disciplined
even in their breath. I really understand that discipline is a quality of success.
I appreciate the teachers who are so involved with them and my lecture went
with such an ease that I had a walk-in park. Thank you, students, of NSS Neeramankara
for giving me such a warm hospitality during my visit over there.

On
12.02.2018, I delivered an invited talk on “Science and Technology for
Sustainable Development” at St. Stephen’s College, Pathanapuram. It was my
second visit to the college. Mrs. Rini Varghese is my student and friend who is
now Assistant Professor at Department of Physics, St. Stephen’s College,
Pathanapuram. I thank her personally for the invitation. It was my first
lecture on “Wetland Conservation”. Attaching photos of the same.
Program 5 & 6
On
15.02.2018 and 16.02.2018, I had visited Tirur and Kuttipuram. Mrs. Soumya is
Assistant Professor at TMG Collge, Tirur. She is in charge of “Walk with
Scholar” and hence she finds me a suitable person to talk with the students.
Every time I visit the college, I had the privilege to interact with students
from various backgrounds of science and Arts. This time the event was related
to Shastaryaan programs in the college. The initiative by the Kerala State government
is a commendable enterprise where students get a platform to know science
closely with love and affection. I talked about this year’s theme of
conservation of our natural resources using science and technology. On next day
I had gone to visit Kuttipuram Engineering College. I was the chief guest to inaugurate
their Techfest and give an invited talk on “Artificial Intelligence”. Students
were very energetic and hence I hade to be more energetic to talk to them. Yes,
for sure they are living their life to the fullest. I thank Teacher in charge, Mrs.
Shajila, Head of the Department, Department of Computer science for calling me
to inaugurate the function. Attaching Some Photos of the same.
As mentioned, the Shasthrayaan scheme
was also scheduled in Department of Physics, University of Kerala during 15-16
February 2018. We had M Sc First Years and Second Years as volunteers from
your department for Shastaryann. Many students from Colleges and schools participated
in Shastrayaan program. Attaching the Brochure of the same.
