Interesting news is that we, Department
of Physics, organized a small visit to Department of Archaeology in our campus.
Dr. Rajesh, HOD and Dr. Abayan, Assistant Professor, Department of Archaeology
extended full support so that our second M Sc students could get a glimpse of
the world of science and art, Archaeology. Physics is an important tool in characterization of the samples. Physics becomes the back bone in determining the age, photo
luminous properties of antiques and elemental analysis of Fossils using SEM/EDS and so on. Interacting with the
faculty over there, we found that it was quite a wonderful day where we saw them using
science in best way to recreate the fantasy and culture that we hold about our olden times.
Fossil research, Ceramics reconstruction process enlightened our thought
process. I would like to add that it was a great relief as well as a thought
provoking day for M Sc Physics students, who lives their life in syllabus,
syllabus and in syllabus again. Knowing that world exist not only in Physics class but also nearby where people fancy
their own disciplines was an act of change. Hopefully this may convey to my
blog reader that physics exist not by its own nature but with others involvement
also. Intellectual interpretation is good and fantastic, but to know the
cosmos, we need to include our fellow beings to reach the greater heights.
Hopefully,
I have conveyed my message for this month. Keep in touch. Attaching some photos
of the same…
Cheers
