Eventful February

Dear all,

Month of February was an eventful one. I had attended six programs.
1.      Quiz at Assumption College on 20.02.2017



2.      Invited Talk on “Science and Technology for specially abled Persons” at Department of Instrumentation, CUSAT on 22-23.02.2017. Following the seminar my research Scholars presented their Paper on SOFC and NLO. Details are as follows
(a)    “SOFCs Electrolyte: La2Zr2O7 A Novel Oxide with high oxide ion conduction” by Akhila (S1, M Phil)
(b)   “Optical Limiting Properties of Novel Nanocomposites” by Adersh V (S4, M Sc Physics)



3.      On 27-02.2017 to 01.03.2017, presented two papers at National Photonics Seminar 2017 at International School of Photonics, CUSAT.
(a)    Low Threshold Optical Limiting Properties of Cu2+ doped PVA passivated ZnSe Nanoparticles by M Muhsin (S1, MSc Physics)
(b)   Novel Nanocomposite Films for Optoelectronic Applications by Nisha C S
4.      On 28.02.2017 (Science Day) , I delivered an Invited talk on “BRAIN” at Morning Star College, Angamaly.






5.      On 09.03.2017, I was invited as resource person at Kannur University. I could deliver a Lecture on “The Expanse of Nano: Fuel Cells” at Academic Staff College, Kannur.






6.      On 10.03.2017, I was invited as resource person for Walk with Scholar Program at TMG College, Tirur.

I was delighted to deliver a talk at Sree Narayana College, Varkala, as part of the TRENDZ Seminar Series 2025 organised by the PG Department of Physics. Speaking on “2D Materials for a Sustainable Energy Future” , I had the opportunity to introduce students and faculty to the fascinating world of ultrathin materials, their role in next-generation fuel cells, and how they tie into the broader vision of sustainable development. We discussed why 2D materials are considered the future-high surface area, tunable properties, and exceptional catalytic behaviour-while also reflecting on the challenges such as large-scale fabrication, stability, and commercialization. A Moment of Grace and Responsibility In the sacred silence of a church, we often see a priest standing before the congregation. He may not always be the wisest, the most talented, or the most scholarly in the scriptures. Yet, once chosen to stand in that space, he carries a responsibility, not of perfection, but of presence. 🌟 Kudos to Dr. Rakhi R. B., our proud alumna of the Department of Physics, University of Kerala.
