On August 1, 2015, I had a chance to speak to students and faculty members of St. Michael’s College commentating A P J Abdul Kalam’s Persona and his influence on youth of India. It was indeed my pleasure to talk in my college where I completed my Bachelor’s degree in science as well it is this place where I was truly driven to do physics is my life. My father, Prof. K A Solaman and my mother, Prof. K V Stella were former Head of Department of Physics and they severed as a teacher, guide and mentor for many students during their tenure including myself. So, I really cherish this day where I was invited to deliver a talk on APJ, who has been in thoughts and feelings of every Indian for the past few days. Attaching photo of the same….


On August 4, 2015, Department of Physics arranged a talk on English Speaking skills by Vishnu Narayanan for M Sc students. I would like to add the comment posted by Athul on Department of Physics Whatsapp account. He says “Today we had an interesting talk on interview skills. The class was good, informative and very essential for us. But the sad thing is that still students are hesitant to speak in English. Unless such skills are not improved, we can’t communicate in a better way. Athira, II M Sc student responded that the talk was truly wonderful and it reminds her about the ASAP training, she had attended. I am attaching photo of the session and his contact details as he has kindly agreed for any help from his side for the students of our department.



On August 10, 2015, M Phil students completed their thesis work and we had a get together. I am enclosing a photo herewith.

Again on August 12, 2015, Department of Opto Electronics arranged a talk by Prof. Pulickel M. Ajayan, one of the pioneers in nanotechnology. Students and faculty members from our department attended the function. He is recently listed by the Scientific American magazine as one of 50 technology leaders. An alumnus of Loyola School, Trivandrum) he is credited with major developments in nanotechnology. We were much benefited from his talk.

I was delighted to deliver a talk at Sree Narayana College, Varkala, as part of the TRENDZ Seminar Series 2025 organised by the PG Department of Physics. Speaking on “2D Materials for a Sustainable Energy Future” , I had the opportunity to introduce students and faculty to the fascinating world of ultrathin materials, their role in next-generation fuel cells, and how they tie into the broader vision of sustainable development. A Moment of Grace and Responsibility In the sacred silence of a church, we often see a priest standing before the congregation.
