National Space Day 2026
The Department of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, University of Kerala, celebrated National Space Day 2026 by organising a series of competitions for students to foster interest in space science and encourage their creativity.
The celebrations included a Space Quiz, Story Writing Competition,
Astrophotography Contest, Lunar Reel Contest and Digital Poster Making
Competition.

The Space Quiz, conducted on 14 August 2026, had 15 teams of
two and included questions related to space science and exploration. The Story
Writing Competition, also held on the same day, was based on the topic
“Alien Among Us” and gave students an opportunity to combine science
with imagination.
The Astrophotography Contest invited students to capture
the Perseid meteor shower, while the Lunar Reel
Contest encouraged them to create short reels on the theme “Moon”.
A Digital Poster Making Competition was also organised on the
topic “The Future of Space Exploration.” These competitions were
conducted from 8–14 August 2026.
The programmes received strong student participation and provided an
opportunity to learn about and think about space science in a different,
creative way.
The department thanks all the students who participated and helped make the National
Space Day 2026 celebrations a success. 🚀🌙
