A Write up- Thanks to all who were behind this efort

Today we have come to the conclusion time of the 5-day Prof. Thanu Padmanabhan commemorative Webinar Series organised jointly by the Kerala Government, KSCSTE, and the four brothers...Kerala University, Cochin University, M G University, and Calicut University. I feel previleged to extend a vote of thanks to the esteemed invitees who have gathered here to pay homage to Late Sir Thanu Padmanabhan.

During the initial talks when this commemorative series was planned, Dr. Ajith Prabhu, Chief Scientist, KSCSTE has shared with me the necessity of a tribute to Paddy. I would like to share a small instance to the audience here about a gesture by Professor Thanu Padmanabhan that personally moved me which I then shared with Dr. Ajith Prabhu Sir. We, the Department of Physics, University of Kerala, had planned 50 luminary lectures as a part of the Golden Jubilee celebration of our department. We invited him for an online lecture due to the current pandemic situation. However, he humbly replied and said he wanted to make the lecture offline. Please note that it was not a "No," but a big "Yes" to our call. He said he would come to Kerala University shortly as our government planned to award him for his scientific contributions. The reason for his choice of doing an offline class was interesting. When he explains the science, he wants to get real-time feedback from students' faces so that proper knowledge dissemination is done. These words will only come from great teachers.

All the speakers shared these same thoughts elaborately, especially Dr. S. Pradeep Kumar, Member Secretary, KSCSTE, Dr. V. P. Mahadevan Pillai Vice Chancellor University of Kerala, Shri. M. C. Dathan, Former Director, VSSC and Dr. Dawood Kothawala, Professor, Department of Physics, IIT, Madras and Prof. K. P. Sudheer Executive Vice President, KSCSTE. On my behalf and behalf of the University of Kerala, I extend my wholehearted gratitude to our esteemed panel in this webinar for their presence and for sharing their insights with us that made this event possible and thereby touching many young minds listening to the lecture. Thank You !!!

Last but not least, I would like to conclude the commemorative webinar series with the message shared by our loving Paddy…

One day Akbar asked, "Tansen, you say he taught you music; clearly, it is clear that your teacher has held back some techniques from you."

Tansen replied “No” and added that he knew all the technical aspects of music that his teacher does.

Then Akbar queried, "But, Tansen, then how do you account for such difference in quality ?" "It is simple. He sings for the Yamuna while I sing for Badshah".

Maybe that is the reason why Paddy is a great teacher, researcher, and philosopher. Because he has just sung the theories for nature, dear sir/madam and friends, let us revamp our approach to the higher education sector; let us approach science in a way that Paddy did. I know for sure that there are many Paddys listening to my speech

Thank you all once again
