Department Of Physics was able to invite two more speakers to delivered talks as a part of its 50th-year celebration of its existence.
1.    Invited Talk on Biophysics. Dr Bibhu Ranjan Sarangi is Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, IIT Palakkad. He delivered a Talk on “Mechanics of Living Matter at different length scales” at auditorium, Department of Physics on 20th September 2019 at 11 am. I am attaching some photos of the same.

The talk was aimed to give an exposure to the M.Sc. and Ph.D. students of the Department of physics kariavattom campus. Dr.Bubhu Ranjan sarangi is an experimental biophysicist. He earned his Ph.D. from RRI Bangalore and is an expert in the field of biophysics, especially the treatment of cancers. An interdisciplinary research of biology and physics requires a big encouragement. To increases, the quality of human life, especially in the area of cure of diseases, the research in biophysics is need of time. Dr. Sarangi understands the malicious disease cancer not only in terms of biology but through a wide-angle of physics. The program began at 11 am at the auditorium of the Department of physics. All the major Science departments were invited to the function. The listener strength was around 40. Dr. Sarangi explained the basics of the reaction of cells with external mechanical stimuli and then moved to the physics of cancer. The classes were beneficial to the researchers and PG students also. At 12. 30, the program ended in a little note saying that research in biophysics is the need of time. After that session, there was an interaction between the speaker and pg. Students. He spent his valuable time give wise advice to young sprouts.





















2.    Invited Talk on Chandrayaan 2. Dr. Prince P R, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, University College, Thiruvananthapuram, delivered a talk on “the Success factors of Chandrayaan 2” on 24th September 2019, 2 pm. I am attaching some photos of the same.

The Department has taken its first steps to initiate a mentoring program. PG first year and second-year students assigned to the faculties of the Department had their first meeting. The leader in charge does the documentation of the session.  Thanks to all for your cooperation.

On 16.10.2019, Students of our department visited Department of Bioinformatics and spend half day with Achuthsankar Sir.































Thanks to Shakaraman Sir and Swapna for sharing some time with Enigma.

On 16.10.2019, I delivered an invited talk on "Integrating Technology in Teaching" at ICT centre, Mar Ivanious College. I thank Vishnu sir for inviting me and also thank all the participants for the wonderful time we had together.

I was delighted to deliver a talk at Sree Narayana College, Varkala, as part of the TRENDZ Seminar Series 2025 organised by the PG Department of Physics. A Moment of Grace and Responsibility In the sacred silence of a church, we often see a priest standing before the congregation.
