Dear Friends, I am happy to share that Department of Physics, the University of Kerala also celebrated Yoga day in association with the Department of Optoelectronics. Prof. Unnikrishnan Sir, Founder HOD, Department of optoelectronics was the chief guest of the function. The function started at 11:00 am at Auditorium. The talk began with the quote of Swami Vivekananda. “Education is not the amount of information that is put into your brain and run riot there undigested all your life. We must have life-building, man making, character making assimilations of ideas”. Dear All, I am happy to say that New batch of students (Enigma) has arrived in our Department. This is for the first time that we have three ongoing PG Batches. Even though we are facing a shortage of space, the cooperation for all sides helps a lot in the smooth functioning of the department. I would like to share with you two programs that were organised recently. On 17.06.2019, Dr. K R Narayanan Memorial Student Amenity Centre was officially inaugurated by Honourable Chief Minister Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan. It is a long time since I have come up with any news/updates in the Physics department. I should say that I was on vacation as well as I had been held up with many duties such as election, Alumni etc. Now I have a little bit of space and time to share about the past two months. So let us begin with the oldest ones On 24 February 2019, I delivered a lecture on “Idea fest” at Motivational camp and Motivational visit Programme at St. Michael’s College, Cherthala. The program was a part of Walk with the Scholar Scheme. The talk was on the need for youth to focus on the self-earning process while learning. Starting a Business is no longer a dream.
