Student Skill Acquisition Club (SSAC)

We, Department of Physics, Started SSAC on 20.10.2017. All students of the department are members of the club. The Department Council nominated me as the Faculty Advisor. I affirm that I will try my best to render the needed to help and motivate students to take this organization one step forward by organizing programmes at department level such as Newspaper reading, conducting GDs, Quiz competition and seminars etc...  Member students elected the following members as Executive Committee members for SSAC:

President: Gayathry Ganesh
Vice president: Muhammed Muhsin
Secretary: Jishnu
Executive Committee members (four members representing different semesters/courses)
Ajay, Shabhna (I M Sc), Thasneem, Garaythri Murali (II M Sc)














The Faculty Advisor and HOD will monitor the activities of the SSAC. As our first program, we would like to present the report on “Nobelia 2017”.

“Nobelia 2017” was presented by “Questa Nova” First year M Sc Physics Students in Department of Physics. Athira, Leader of “Questa Nova” presided over the function. The program was aimed at sharing information about the Nobel Prize winners of the year 2017. The event comprised of power point presentation by the students about Nobel Prize award for peace, Literature, Economics, Medicine, Chemistry and Physics. The program concluded with feedback and questions. I delivered some concluding remarks on the skills required to present a topic before audience and appreciated their efforts to organize such a function. Vote of thanks was delivered by Lakshmi. I was delighted to deliver a talk at Sree Narayana College, Varkala, as part of the TRENDZ Seminar Series 2025 organised by the PG Department of Physics. Speaking on “2D Materials for a Sustainable Energy Future” , I had the opportunity to introduce students and faculty to the fascinating world of ultrathin materials, their role in next-generation fuel cells, and how they tie into the broader vision of sustainable development. A Moment of Grace and Responsibility In the sacred silence of a church, we often see a priest standing before the congregation. He may not always be the wisest, the most talented, or the most scholarly in the scriptures. Yet, once chosen to stand in that space, he carries a responsibility, not of perfection, but of presence.
