Activities on April-May 2017

As University is going through summer vacation (April 15- June 15), We had time to involve in some of the outreach activities in and outside the university. First one is a motivational-informative lecture on “Why we should be ourselves?” at Arthungal TTC on 21st April 2017, Friday from 2pm to 4 pm. It is quite becoming a teacher to stand up to them and talking on their intellectual and consciousness level. I appreciate the efforts taken by dioceses where continual effort is taking place towards improving the quality of education for students in our society.






Another initiative which we, department of Physics could be a part of Prof. G Aruldhas memorial lecture series parts I series on 26.04.2017 and 27.04.2017. The lectures were delivered by Antony sir, Anand sir and me. Around 60 students from different colleges joined the program and were enthusiastic to interact openly with teachers. Aim and motivation behind lecture series, some photos are attached herewith for my blog readers to look through and comment.

Lastly few days back, university conducted an interaction program called “Inculcate Science Propagation Programme” (4-7 May 2017). Dr. Subodh, Head, Department of Physics along with S4 M Sc students and Research Scholars organized an interactive session to showcase of physics experiments. The students were really motivated to see all around and I am ahppy to share with you some of photos of the same.

I was delighted to deliver a talk at Sree Narayana College, Varkala, as part of the TRENDZ Seminar Series 2025 organised by the PG Department of Physics. Speaking on “2D Materials for a Sustainable Energy Future” , I had the opportunity to introduce students and faculty to the fascinating world of ultrathin materials, their role in next-generation fuel cells, and how they tie into the broader vision of sustainable development. A Moment of Grace and Responsibility In the sacred silence of a church, we often see a priest standing before the congregation. He may not always be the wisest, the most talented, or the most scholarly in the scriptures. Yet, once chosen to stand in that space, he carries a responsibility, not of perfection, but of presence. 🌟 Kudos to Dr. Rakhi R. B., our proud alumna of the Department of Physics, University of Kerala.
