Happy New Year to all… Let this year be a new
beginning to our old ideas, aims and ambition. This year I can start my blog
with a very happy moment. My Colleague and my Friend, Dr. Subodh G, HOD,
Department of Physics, University of Kerala, has being awarded Young scientist
award 2016 by Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment. We,
Department of Physics, organized an informal function or a small family get
together to congratulate Subodhji for the recognition he had been credited
with. These little moments has the richness of his intimate smile which could
be never re recreated in any other events. Once again congratulation Dr.
Subodh, May God bless you further with greater appreciations in future.
Now interesting news is that our students participated
in 1 min idea contest organized by Department of Bioinformatics, University of
Kerala, Trivandrum. To our delight, Ms. Nisha C S, First Year M Sc student
bagged the first prize in the contest for Dhawni 1.0. A few words about Nisha…
She comes to my office always with a pleasant smile, takes the Job with a
smile, does the job with a smile and her smile always makes the opportunity to success.
Learn it from her, you will also see your ideas beings visualized. Actually I
am myself educated from her attitude. I also take this opportunity to congratulate
all my students who presented their ideas and also supported their friend in whichever
way possible to appear for the event. We had a small party for Nisha. Attaching
the photos of the same….
To all my blog readers, I have started my venture
into an un-mapped area of BRAIN research. For those who are not knowing about
it, let me introduce you to this research project. This is a very simple yet
powerful attempt to map our Brain activity using BRAIN wave files. Dr. V S Ramachandran is a neuroscientist known primarily for his work in the fields of behavioral neurology and visual psychophysics. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Psychology
and the Graduate Program in Neurosciences at the University of California, San Diego. He is our Guru. We, like Ekalavya, are just trying
to follow his foot prints to understand unresolved Brain function/activities
till date. Thanks to all the team members for their constant support to our
program. I am hoping that this venture may draw further interest and many others
in and outside the department will join this program. Don’t be a distant evaluator.
Come and support this needed research because >80% of human population in modern
world do suffer their emotions than their physical inabilities (Courtesy-Film
Dear Zindagi). Hoping that you are with
me with all your support....
Give me a place to stand, I will move the earth. Thank
You
Cheers
Sibi K S
