A Meaningful Presentation at Down to Earth: The Amazing Planet

The Two-Day National Seminar “Down to Earth: The Amazing Planet”, held on 25–26 March 2026, was a memorable and meaningful academic event. It was especially significant because it was organized as part of the retirement ceremony programme of Pradeep Sir.

I was happy to be part of this occasion and to present our paper titled:

Mathematical Modelling of River Meandering Using Gamma Functions
Authors: Parvana P, Dhanil Dev S R and Sibi K S

This work brought together mathematical ideas and Earth system understanding through a model of river meandering based on Beta–Gamma functions. The presentation was a small but meaningful contribution to a very special academic gathering.

The seminar was very well organized, and the paper presentation sessions were handled in a very aesthetic, gracious, and thoughtful manner. The atmosphere created by the session chairs made the student presenters feel comfortable and confident, allowing them to share the essence of their work without tension. That was one of the most admirable aspects of the programme.

A Note of Appreciation

Dear Dhanil Sir,

Thank you very much for sharing the Abstract Proceedings Volume of the Two-Day National Seminar, “Down to Earth: The Amazing Planet,” held on 25–26 March 2026.

It was indeed a privilege to be part of the event, especially during Pradeep Sir’s programme on 26 March. The seminar was very well organised, and I am glad to have had the opportunity to participate.

The paper presentation sessions were handled in a very aesthetic, gracious, and thoughtful manner. The atmosphere created by the session chairs made the student presenters feel comfortable and confident, allowing them to share the essence of their work without tension. I felt that this was one of the most admirable aspects of the programme.

Please convey my sincere appreciation to all the members of the organising team for their efforts. I wish the Department of Geology continued success in conducting such meaningful academic events.

With regards,

Sibi K. S.
